The Team
Joe Crome

Joe has lived in Leatherhead since he was a nipper. He started volunteering with local young people during his gap year, and enjoyed this so much that he cancelled his university place to continue this work on a permanent basis! His highlights over the last 5 years have included supporting local young people to garden for elderly residents in the community (while running BLAZE project), and taking 3 local lads to South Africa for a fantastic trip in February 2010. Joe loves running, reading, his beautiful wife, and generally enjoying life in the wonderful community of Leatherhead.
Alex Ball

Alex is a local resident, youth worker, football lover and generally active member of the wonderful community here in Leatherhead. He gives his time to local youth projects including residential camp 'Freestyle', the 'North Leatherhead United' under 17's football club and the 'Kic' friday night youth club as well as putting in lots of hours down at Bfree youth cafe. Alex grew up locally and after University decided he couldn't stay away any longer, moving to Leatherhead in 2007. Interests include anything to do with football as well as clicking, playing guitar, writing music. He also likes to use great words like 'grassroots' and 'authentic community'. Favourite films include Black Hawk Down, The Matrix and Braveheart. Peace.
Judith Crome

Judith heads up our girls project Bliss and partners with another local organisation to run Miss Bliss. Judith also spends 2 days a week working as a relational youth worker in Therfield Secondary school and sixth form college. She is a qualified counsellor and volunteers her time to counsel adults two nights a week.
Lydia Taylor

Lydia is passionate about seeing young people know that they are valued and fulfilling their potential in whatever form that may be. She has worked for Liquid Connection since 2004 after founding The Grind in 2003 and continues to run the urban sports project, as well as working in Hinchley Wood Secondary School for 2 days a week as a Relational Youth Worker and 2 days as a Behaviour Support Assistant.
Lydia performs regularly with urban dance company SUDC and enjoys all hip hop styles - especially lyrical. Her favourite music includes grime, garage, hip hop and r&b. She loves dancing, anything pink, ben and jerrys, laughing so hard it hurts, cocktails, sunshine, rubicon, photos, reading and sleeping in. Unfortunately she still doesn't know her left and right despite the efforts of many!
