Providing one-to-one mentoring and guidance for vulnerable students in local schools

Liquid Connection provides relational support and mentoring in local schools. By being based in school, we have an opportunity to provide emotional support and guidance to young people with the highest needs. We aim to help young people overcome issues they are struggling with, stay on track and feel positive about their future.

Therfield School - Relational Support

Our staff currently work within Therfield School in Leatherhead twice a week to deliver relational support. We provide one-to-one sessions with young people who are struggling with difficult circumstances, including those who are at-risk of exclusion from school, or are facing problems elsewhere. Vulnerable students are referred to us from the Therfield Heads of House, and from there we will organise regular appointments with each young person, which take place during school hours in our Relational Support office at the school.

Our work in Therfield School is funded by SCC Local Committee for Mole Valley, and St Georges Church, Ashtead.

Leatherhead Trinity - Transition Support

In February 2011 we will begin working with Leatherhead Trinity Primary School to deliver transitional support to year 6 students. This work will help young people who have been identified by the school as likely to struggle with making the progression from year 6 to year 7. This may be due to behavioural difficulties, lack of confidence, or being pre-occupied with other circumstances.

This transitional support will involve weekly group sessions, alongside one-to-one mentoring sessions during school hours at Leatherhead Trinity.
